Acer's new Predator Helios Neo gaming laptops feature RTX 5070 Ti GPUs and multiple ports.

Mid-range specifications, but with a large number of ports.

Antonio G. Di Benedetto, a reviewer specializing in laptops and occasional devices, has over 15 years of experience in the photography industry before joining his current team in 2021. In the desktop GPU market, Nvidia introduced its RTX 5090 and 5080 models last month. However, in the laptop sector, the imminent launch of the 50 series is still awaited, starting with the new and robust options from Acer.

The models, named Predator Helios Neo 16 AI and Predator Helios Neo 18 AI, can be configured with the powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and the RTX 5070 Ti GPU. Both laptops feature a wide variety of ports and will start retailing at $1,899.99 for the 16-inch version and $2,199.99 for the 18-inch version. The 16-inch model will launch in the United States in April and in other countries in May, while the 18-inch model will be available in May and globally in June.

Both laptops showcase RGB logos on the lid, four-zone backlighting on the keyboard, and support configurations of up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. In the more advanced versions, the 16-inch models come with an OLED display featuring a 240Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2560 x 1600, while the 18-inch model has Mini LED at 250Hz with the same resolution. Both models feature 90Wh batteries and support Wi-Fi 6E.

Regarding connectivity, each laptop is equipped with one Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, three USB-A ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, one combined 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack, and one Ethernet port. However, despite their considerable size and weight of 7.28 pounds, both models include microSD card slots instead of the typical full-size slots. This seems to be the only "micro" aspect of these devices.

It is important to note that the RTX 5070 Ti GPUs, Core Ultra 9 processors, and OLED/Mini LED displays are optional. The base configurations of both models include a Core Ultra 7 255HX processor and an RTX 5070 GPU, which, while not bad options, come with displays featuring a lower resolution of 1920 x 1200. So far, there has been no response from Acer regarding the prices of the more advanced configurations of the Predator Helios Neo.
