With Nintendo's Alarmo, we can all wake up Mario-style.

This week in Installer: Alarmo, Bitcoin, Dookie, and Docs.

Hello, friends! Welcome to edition number 56, where we explore the best and most interesting things in the world. This time, I’ve been researching the television productions of Bill Lawrence, the powerful cryptocurrency lobby, and fascinating facts about plankton. I’ve also enjoyed the excellent podcast Snafu narrated by Ed Helms, and I’ve been entertained playing Balatro and Retro Goal. I’m trying to get back into the habit of making overnight oats, and I’ve been taking my phone calls with the fantastic microphone from the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.

Additionally, I have to share with you a novel alarm clock, an outstanding documentary about Bitcoin, a monster-raising game that has created a lot of excitement, a small but impressive update to Google Docs, and more interesting content. Although it hasn’t been the busiest week, there have been several entertaining things to discover.

One of the best aspects of this edition is hearing your recommendations and ideas. What are you playing, reading, watching, or cooking this week? I’m very curious to know.

What’s New

Alarmo. Nintendo has created an alarm clock that combines charm with functionality. While it may not be the high-tech device some expected, its customizable design and Mario sounds make it an appealing product for getting out of bed.

Money Electric: The Mystery of Bitcoin. Once again, there is an announcement about having found Satoshi Nakamoto, but this documentary convincingly argues the importance of Nakamoto and Bitcoin in the current landscape.

Microsoft OneDrive. It has always been an acceptable service, but recent improvements in speed, search, and a mobile app more focused on photos could position it as a stronger competitor against Google Drive and Dropbox.

Mastodon 4.3. This update focuses on making the platform more accessible and facilitating user searches, which could encourage its use.

Miraibo Go. This new monster-raising game has drawn comparisons to Palworld and Pokémon. Many players are expected to capture Miras over the weekend.

Forums are still alive. Chris Person, a writer, reviews the wealth of information found in forums, promising hours of exploration.

Piece By Piece. A short animated documentary with Legos about Pharrell Williams that is worth watching, even if briefly.

Goodnotes. This app, ideal for those who prefer writing by hand, has integrated AI features that enhance search capabilities and solve equations.

Dookie Demastered. Green Day has reimagined their iconic 30-year-old album in an unexpected format, resulting in an intriguing and fun object.

Tabs in Google Docs. A small but handy improvement that simplifies document organization in Google Docs.

Sharing Recommendations

One of the best parts of our community is sharing what we are enjoying. Some of the interests reflect a mix of literature, music, and useful apps. Feel free to send me your suggestions; it’s always enriching to learn about new experiences.

Finally, I must confess that I have become someone who appreciates spreadsheets. While working on team projects where organization is key, I have discovered the efficiency they offer for tracking tasks and budgets.

See you next week!
