Trailer for Mickey 17: The Unexpected Hero Played by Robert Pattinson Keeps Dying.
In the trailer for the new movie by Bong Joon-ho, "Mickey 17," Robert Pattinson's character, Mickey Barnes, experiences the cycle of life, death, and resurrection in the form of a clone.
Mickey Barnes, the character played by Robert Pattinson, finds himself in a complicated situation after accepting a job that involves dying. In the plot of Mickey 17, Mickey is a "disposable," an employee assigned to the exploration and colonization of a new alien world due to his discontent with life on Earth. As a disposable being, his existence is ephemeral; if he dies, his employer simply creates a new clone with most of his memories intact. However, the constant cycle of deaths begins to wear him down, especially after he falls in love with Nasha Adjaya, a character played by Naomi Ackie.
Everything takes an unexpected turn when one of Mickey's versions, Mickey 17, survives a mission and faces another of his clones, Mickey 18. Since multiples like him are usually eliminated, both Mickeys struggle to stay alive. For the first time in his life, Mickey decides he is ready to fight and realizes that he no longer fears death.
The cast of Mickey 17 includes actors such as Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. This film, written and directed by Bong Joon-ho, is based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, and represents the director's first work since his acclaimed film Parasite, which won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Production on Mickey 17 began in August 2022 and was completed in December of the same year. Initially scheduled for release in March 2024, its release has been delayed several times due to strikes and post-production issues. The film currently has a new release date in the United States on March 7, 2025, after being moved to April 18, 2025. Additionally, it has been announced that Mickey 17 will have its world premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival next month.
