The Most Exciting TVs of 2025 Showcased at CES
The CES showcased a fascinating group of characters in the television sector to anticipate in 2025.
Returning home after the dizzying experience that was CES, I’ve shed all things related to Las Vegas and I’m reflecting on what I experienced. The event felt like a big family reunion. Among the attendees were journalists rushing around, trying to carve out space for their stories, ignoring dinners and parties to be in front of their computers, and content creators with their cameras and a plentiful supply of caffeine. There were also brand representatives we’ve known over the years. Some feel like distant cousins, while others are like that uncle who always has a product for sale.
The televisions on display also behaved like a peculiar family, each with its own personality and role. This year’s selection was undoubtedly remarkable, showcasing standout innovations and a touch of drama. Below are the models that captured viewers' attention for 2025:
TCL QM6K: The Reliable Choice
Let’s start with the TCL QM6K, characterized by its ability to connect with everyone. According to TCL, this model incorporates new QD-Mini LED technology, promising 53% more brightness thanks to its high-energy LED chip. Additionally, it features a Micro Lens Array design that controls blooming and up to 500 local dimming zones. With a 23-bit backlight driver, it aims to offer up to 65,000 levels of brightness gradation, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It’s also appealing to gamers, thanks to its native refresh rate of 144Hz with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Prices start at $749.99, with size options ranging from 50 to 98 inches.
TCL QM7K: The Outstanding Older Brother
Next is the TCL QM7K, which follows in the footsteps of the QM6K but takes it to the next level. With screen sizes of up to 115 inches, this television represents a home cinema experience at a reasonable cost. Incorporating a greater number of local dimming zones, it promises more refined contrast, standing out as the sibling that always aims to surpass itself.
Panasonic Z95B: The Prodigal Son Returns
Then we have the Panasonic Z95B, making a triumphant return with next-gen OLED technology that allows it to reach brightness levels of up to 3,700 nits at its brightest points. Its presentation at CES was noteworthy, highlighting technologies that other brands have kept secret. With its combination of maximum brightness and color accuracy, this model positions itself as a strong contender in the market.
LG G5: The Discreet Prodigy
Let’s move on to the LG G5, which, despite not revealing all its details, clearly incorporates next-gen OLED technology. This television, part of the Gallery series, is designed for wall mounting, making it a stylish and modern choice.
Samsung S95F: The Stubborn Pioneer
The Samsung S95F stands out for its focus on anti-reflective and anti-glare technology, which has received mixed reviews. Nonetheless, it promises exceptional performance in well-lit environments, making it a logical option for those seeking image quality under such conditions.
Hisense 116 UX: The Mystical Card
The Hisense 116 UX appears as an intriguing model, utilizing new mini-LED backlighting technology. While the concept is fascinating, questions arise about its technical implementation and performance in real-world conditions.
Hisense U7: The Missing Showstopper
Although it was not present at CES, the Hisense U7 is the subject of rumors suggesting outstanding performance with surprising features, positioning it as the family member who, despite not attending, remains the talk of the town due to its legacy.
Sansui VO series OLEDs: The Fighter
On its part, the Sansui OLED line stands out for aggressively attacking the market with competitive pricing and options that could shake up its competitors. Its bold approach aims to win the hearts of consumers.
Sony: The Mysterious Pair
Finally, Sony presents itself as the family member that everyone talks about but has yet to meet in person. Its absence at CES left a void, but speculation about what they might launch in the future generates expectations.
