This new OLED monitor amazed me. Let me tell you why it almost reaches perfection.

The HP Omen Transcend 32 practically does everything right. Despite a few minor details to point out, it is one of the most impressive monitors I have had the opportunity to observe.

The HP Omen Transcend 32, with a recommended retail price of $1,300, stands out as an exceptional monitor that exceeds expectations compared to other OLED models. Although it initially received somewhat negative feedback due to its large power adapter and poorly optimized features like SDR brightness, it has proven over time to be one of the best QD-OLED monitors on the market.

Key Features

This monitor features a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 and an impressive contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1. Its response time is just 0.03 ms, and it is designed with a refresh rate of 240Hz, making it ideal for gamers and content creators.

Design and Functionality

Visually, the Omen Transcend 32 is unique thanks to its white finish and adjustable RGB backlighting on the rear. However, some have found that the white bezel around the screen can be somewhat distracting. The stand provides adequate adjustments, but cable management feels somewhat lacking due to a design that leaves much to be desired.

However, its massive 480W power adapter is one of the most controversial aspects, being the largest seen on any monitor. Despite this, the device offers a USB-C port with 140W power delivery, which is more than enough to charge other devices.

Additional Features

The Omen Gear Switch, its KVM switch, is one of the most innovative features, allowing independent control of USB ports between two inputs, as well as file transfer between PCs. Additionally, the Omen Transcend 32 has separate screen modes for professional work and gaming, providing a dual experience by offering extra functionality without compromising image quality.

Image Quality and Performance

In terms of image quality, the panel stands out for its wide color coverage, exceeding 90% in AdobeRGB. Although the brightness in SDR is somewhat limited to 250 nits and cannot match WOLED panels in this aspect, its performance in HDR is outstanding with peaks reaching up to 965 nits.

Gaming on the Omen Transcend 32 is a stunning visual experience, with deep blacks and vibrant colors, thanks to its glossy coating that stands out in dark environments. It supports G-Sync, FreeSync, and VESA AdaptiveSync, ensuring a smooth experience in most demanding titles.

Warranty and Burn-in Mitigation

HP has included a three-year warranty that covers the risk of screen burn-in, which is a relief for many potential buyers. It also implements mitigation features such as static image detection and automatic panel refreshing, which extend the monitor's lifespan.

Conclusion

While there are more affordable options on the market, the HP Omen Transcend 32 justifies its price through advanced features tailored for both gamers and creators, making it a standout choice in the competitive field of QD-OLED monitors.
