The company Palworld will launch the next game from Zau Studio: Tales of Kenzera.

Pocketpair Inc has launched a new publishing label, which will debut with a horror video game developed by the studio responsible for Tales of Kenzera: Zau.

Pocketpair Inc. has decided to expand its horizons by launching a new publishing division called Pocketpair Publishing. Its first announcement as a publisher reveals a collaboration with Surgent Studios, the developer of Tales of Kenzera: Zau, for the publication of a new horror game. Pocketpair gained notoriety in 2024 thanks to the success of Palworld, a survival and crafting game that is clearly inspired by Pokémon. Since then, the studio has been very active, facing a lawsuit from Nintendo and forming a partnership with Sony Music Entertainment to expand the Palworld brand. Now, the company is preparing for new growth by publishing games through its new subsidiary.

Pocketpair Publishing will quickly kick off with a new title from Surgent Studios, which departs from the themes of Tales of Kenzera: Zau, as it is a short horror game with no additional details at the moment. This title is scheduled for release in 2025. For Surgent Studios, this announcement is significant, especially considering their past difficulties in finding a publisher for their next project. In October, the studio announced it would take a hiatus while searching for a publishing partner. Just days later, CEO Abubakar Salim presented a proposal for a developing game titled Project Uso, an Afro-gothic RPG. However, the game that Pocketpair will publish will be different, although Surgent is still in "serious conversation about future projects that may be set in the Tales of Kenzera universe."

John Buckley, director of Pocketpair Publishing, shared his perspective on the reason behind this foray into publishing: "As the video game industry continues to grow, more and more games face challenges in obtaining funding or being approved. We believe it's a shame, as there are incredible creators and ideas that just need a little help to become exceptional games." The yet-to-be-named game from Surgent Studios is set to release in 2025.
