This music app is innovating in the Apple App Store.
A new music app called Practice Pro has chosen a different approach from the usual freemium model to attract downloads.
Recently, a new app has been launched that breaks away from the subscription model that dominates the iOS App Store, opting instead for a one-time payment. The app, called Practice Pro, is developed by Dynamic App Design and is aimed at helping musicians with their practice and development. This unusual approach has been highlighted as one of the app's main features.
Practice Pro is presented as a solution for both professional and amateur musicians, thanks to its modular design. It allows users to customize the app with different practice tools according to their needs, thereby avoiding the need to use multiple apps or deal with cluttered menus. The app includes a total of eight widgets, such as a metronome, an automatic tempo increasing metronome, tone playback, recorder, chromatic tuner, timer, and repetition counter. Additionally, users can create different pages to manage various stages and practice activities, as well as customize the app’s appearance according to their preferences.
For those who practice in groups, Practice Pro features a sharing function that allows everyone to work with the same practice sheet. The app is priced at $10; however, during the week following its launch on February 7, it will be available for just $1. According to the company, this upfront payment model ensures that by downloading the app, users will have no ads, additional in-app purchases, or subscription fees.
The decision not to adopt a freemium model, which is increasingly common in the App Store—where more than 77% of apps in categories like games and health use this approach—suggests a commitment to quality and user satisfaction. Practice Pro is currently available for download at the promotional price mentioned, highlighting the possibility of a seamless user experience.
