The price increase of this potential RPG success of 2025 raises doubts.

Sandfall Interactive has unveiled the impressive voice cast for their first RPG, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, along with a price that has caught attention.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an RPG that is generating anticipation, especially due to its impressive voice cast, composed of renowned actors from the film and video game industry. Among the protagonists are Charlie Cox, known for his role in Daredevil, Jennifer English from Baldur’s Gate 3, Ben Starr from Final Fantasy XVI, and Andy Serkis, famous for his work in various franchises, including The Lord of the Rings. The cast is complemented by the performances of Kirsty Rider, Shala Nyx, Devora Wilde, Tracy Wiles, Rich Keeble, and Maxence Cazorla.

Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, the lead writer and voice producer, emphasized that the cast managed to convey the complexity of the characters, who have been shaped by the adversities of their world. Each of them has faced deep losses and has dealt with these circumstances in very personal ways.

This game was presented during the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, where a visually stunning trailer was showcased. Pre-orders began last Friday, at which time players noticed that the title was available on Amazon for $50, a price that has sparked curiosity compared to other games of similar scale. Some wonder if this suggests that the game is short or less deep than the previews indicate. In response, the development team mentioned that the price was deliberately set to allow more people to discover their world. Moreover, they announced that players can expect over 30 hours of main content, along with a substantial amount of side missions for those looking to complete everything.

Expedition 33 is a fantasy adventure RPG that follows a group of characters on their mission to eliminate the Paintress, an entity that annually takes the lives of those who reach a certain age. One of the most appealing features of the game is its reactive turn-based combat, which unfolds in real time, allowing maneuvers such as dodging, blocking, and chaining combos. Players will also be able to customize their characters' settings to suit their play style and coordinate with their teammates.

Sandfall Interactive plans to release Expedition 33 in spring 2025 on platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
