NVIDIA unveils the new GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 graphics cards: prices, release dates, and next-generation features.
As expected, NVIDIA has launched its latest graphics cards: the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 during CES 2025.
NVIDIA has officially launched its new line of consumer graphics cards, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 series, with the RTX 5090 as the flagship model. The company's CEO, Jensen Huang, made the announcement at an event at the Mandalay Bay casino in Las Vegas, where the new GPUs captured the audience's full attention, despite the competitor presentations.
The RTX 5090 is priced at €2,369, making it the most expensive graphics card in this series. While this does not represent a significant increase compared to its predecessor, the RTX 4090, its price is still considerable for a consumer-designed card. This GPU stands out with its 92 billion transistors and advanced cores, offering artificial intelligence processing speeds that surpass the previous model. With 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a memory bus of 512 bits, the RTX 5090 promises an impressive bandwidth of 1792GB/s.
The RTX 5090 is not only ready to run games in 4K with the highest graphics settings and ray tracing enabled, but it is also considered suitable for 8K gaming, thanks to its large VRAM capacity. However, there is debate about whether it is truly designed for the gaming market, given its high cost, which could steer it more towards professional applications in graphics and video.
In addition to the RTX 5090, the company will launch the RTX 5080 on the same day, January 30, priced at €1,190. This card seems to offer specifications almost below those of the RTX 5090, featuring 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM and an AI performance of 1.801 TOPS.
On the other hand, NVIDIA also showcased the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti, aimed at gamers looking for more affordable options in the mid-range market. These cards will include 16GB and 12GB of GDDR7, respectively, and are expected to hit the market in February with prices of €899 and €659.
Alongside the new hardware, NVIDIA has introduced enhancements to its artificial intelligence software, such as DLSS 4, which optimizes frame rates in games, and Reflex 2, which reduces input latency. Additionally, new shading technologies have been presented that promise to improve visual quality in games.
In summary, the NVIDIA RTX 5000 series not only addresses the high-end graphics market but also incorporates innovations that enhance gaming experiences and professional applications.
