The new LG QNED evo television line is unveiled ahead of CES 2025.

LG has shared information about its new QNED evo range, which will be unveiled at CES 2025 in January.

LG has revealed details about its new QNED evo series for 2025, which will be showcased at CES 2025 in the coming weeks. This revamped series will implement Dynamic QNED Color technology, a proprietary invention that eliminates the need for quantum dots. According to LG, this technology allows the back panel's light to be expressed in pure colors while achieving at least 93% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. It will be interesting to see how this innovation achieves the level of performance that LG promises without resorting to quantum dots.

One of the standout models in this new range is the LG QNED9M, which will be the company’s second television to use the Zero Connect Box, originally introduced with the OLED M series. This feature allows for 4K viewing wirelessly, and in the case of the QNED9M, it will reach up to a refresh rate of 144Hz with AMD FreeSync Premium certification. Additionally, while the initial announcement states that the 2025 QNED evo line will use the a8 AI processor, internal sources indicate that the QNED9M will be equipped with the a9 AI 4K Gen8 processor.

The design of the QNED9M will be extremely slim, inspired by the C series, with an estimated thickness of just 16.4 mm. The new QNED series for 2025 will be available in sizes ranging from 40 to 100 inches, although it has not yet been specified how many inches the QNED9M will have.

Although LG is primarily known for its OLED televisions, the company is making significant improvements in its QNED evo line for 2025, hoping to effectively compete against Samsung's new Neo QLEDs, as well as the flagship models expected from Hisense and TCL. In recent years, the LED television market has been highly competitive, underscoring the importance of LG actively participating in this contest.

In another area, LG's Magic Remote has also been updated to include elements of artificial intelligence. This new version will feature a dedicated AI button that, combined with the Voice ID function, personalizes the user experience based on who is operating the television. A quick press on the AI button will display television functions, while a long press will access a large language model (LLM), allowing for customized searches based on the context viewed on the screen.

More details are expected as CES approaches, particularly during LG's press conference scheduled for January 6, 2025.
