The new Garmin update includes a task management app similar to a to-do list, moving closer to the realm of traditional smartwatches.

The Garmin ComingUp app introduces a task manager that you can wear on your wrist.

Garmin has launched a new app called ComingUp, designed specifically to facilitate task management on some of its standout watches. This software allows users to log tasks, deadlines, and other reminders, functioning in the background on the device. However, it is important to note that this functionality could affect battery life.

The app includes a QWERTY keyboard to ease task entry and has the capability to sync with various task management platforms, such as Microsoft To Do, Google Tasks, and Todoist. This ensures that users can access their task lists and keep them updated across all their connected services.

Garmin, known for its advanced fitness trackers, aims to merge typical features of the most popular smartwatches. Although background operation could influence battery performance, Garmin watches are generally robust in terms of battery life, which raises little concern in that regard.

To obtain the ComingUp app, it is available in the ConnectIQ store. It is essential for users to grant permissions for the app to operate in the background, access the Garmin Connect profile, and be able to send and receive data. Garmin claims that synchronization is real-time, meaning that lists will update instantly, allowing users to manage their tasks while engaging in other activities, such as exercising during lunch.

One of the most attractive features of this app is the task reminders, which help users stay focused and meet set deadlines. Regarding compatibility, the ComingUp app is available for most popular Garmin models, including the Garmin Fenix 8, Garmin Fenix 7, Garmin Instinct 3, Garmin Venu 3, and the Garmin Forerunner series.
