Ubisoft presents the "Siege X Showcase," a digital event to explore the future of Rainbow Six Siege.
Important! Ubisoft has scheduled an online event to present all the information about the future of Rainbow Six Siege.
Ubisoft has announced an exciting transformation for Rainbow Six Siege, marking the beginning of a new era in this popular game. During the finals of the Six Invitational 2025, attendees were invited to tune in to the Siege X Showcase, which will take place on March 13 in Atlanta, United States. This event will showcase significant changes to the game, including improvements in graphics and sound, as well as optimized tactical gameplay and new ways to explore the Siege universe.
Additionally, it was revealed that Year 10 of the game will begin on the same day as the event, with the launch of the first season called Operation Prep Phase. This season will welcome a new operator named Rauora, who joins the roster of attackers with an innovative gadget known as the D.O.M. Launcher. This device deploys bulletproof panels at entrances, allowing attackers to control sightlines and movement, thus offering tactical advantages in battle.
Rauora hails from New Zealand and comes equipped with a formidable arsenal of weapons for combat. She can choose between the precision rifle 417 or the light machine gun M249 as her primary weapons, as well as the GSH-18 9mm pistol or the new Reaper MK2 submachine gun as her secondary weapon. Her equipment also includes smoke grenades and demolition charges, making her a notable threat in close-quarters engagements.
The D.O.M. Launcher stands out with its intelligent system that provides bulletproof coverage, though it can only be deployed on doors. When aiming at an entrance, the player receives an on-screen indication to confirm that they can launch the device. Once the projectile impacts the door, it locks in place and extends a panel down to the ground. These panels are unique compared to traditional barricades, as they can detect nearby drones, temporarily rising to allow passage before closing again.
Both attackers and defenders can interact with these panels, although attackers enjoy faster activation times and a brief block for defenders just after installation. The D.O.M. opens up new tactical possibilities, allowing teams to block sightlines, control movement, and strengthen their defenses. However, while they are bulletproof, the panels are vulnerable to explosives and certain Operator abilities.
Rauora will be available from the start of the season through the Battle Pass of Operation Prep Phase and can be unlocked with Renown or R6 Credits two weeks after her launch. Rainbow Six Siege can be played on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and Epic Games, and is also included in the Ubisoft+ Premium subscription.
