The Hori camera for the Piranha Plant on Switch 2 is a true masterpiece.
It’s impressive, the Piranha Plant camera of the Switch 2 is really beautiful.
Recently, new details about the Switch 2 were revealed that were previously unknown, highlighting that Nintendo will launch a webcam alongside the new console. However, the Switch 2 camera, priced at $50, doesn’t seem particularly appealing, and the images provided by the company do not showcase good performance in its main function: capturing moving images.
The good news is that Nintendo will allow third-party manufacturers to create their own webcams for the new console. One example is the Hori Piranha Plant Camera, which features characteristics not found in Nintendo's official model. One of the innovative aspects of Hori's camera is that the planter where the Piranha Plant sits serves both as a stand and a USB extension for the device. Additionally, the part that houses the camera can be detached from the planter, allowing it to be mounted directly on top of the Switch 2. This makes it easy to take on trips, ideal for those wishing to interact with friends through GameChat while on a domestic flight, as long as they have Wi-Fi on the plane.
Another advantage of the Piranha Plant Camera is its integrated privacy shutter. By closing the "mouth" of the plant, the lens can be concealed, adding a touch of clever and functional design. It is not yet available on the Hori website in the U.S., but in Germany, retailer Media Markt already has it priced at €40, which is €20 less than Nintendo's official camera. With an affordable price and attractive design, what more could you ask for?
