Since March 31, Apple has released an update for iOS 18.4 that allows users of certain devices to access Apple Intelligence in Spanish. This advancement includes various text and image generation tools, available on recent models of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple emphasizes that its artificial intelligence has been designed with a strong focus on protecting user privacy.

Although many functionalities of Apple Intelligence are comparable to those of AI assistants like Google Gemini, a recent demonstration showed that Apple has achieved seamless integration within apps like Notes, Messages, and Mail, as well as with ChatGPT. However, the effectiveness of these tools will depend on how individuals choose to use them.

Some of the capabilities of Apple Intelligence in Spanish, ordered by relevance, include:

• Email summarization: The Mail app has a dedicated button that allows users to summarize emails. When used, the AI can condense an extensive message into a brief summary in seconds. However, it is important to note that this feature is limited to the Mail app, which may not satisfy those who prefer to use platforms like Gmail.

• Integration with ChatGPT: This feature is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as long as the appropriate operating system versions are used. During a test, it was demonstrated how Siri, activated by double-tapping the Command key, was able to generate an itinerary for a bike ride in Mexico City using ChatGPT, which turned out to be useful and practical. Additionally, visually appealing documents can be created using tools like Image Playground.

• Creation of Genmojis: Apple has also introduced the ability to create custom emojis, called Genmojis. This function, which is currently only available in Messages, allows users to easily make Genmojis and share them as images in other apps like WhatsApp.

In terms of compatibility, Apple Intelligence in Spanish is only available on devices released between 2024 and 2025, which includes various versions of the iPhone 16 and 15, as well as high-end iPads and Macs.

Apple assures that many processes are carried out directly on the user's device and, when access to Apple’s servers is needed, the information is never stored in the cloud. This approach is called “Private Cloud Compute,” which allows for the creation of an unalterable cryptographic record of hardware and software operations.
