The Death Clock app predicts your death date.
A new application called Death Clock predicts the date of death for its users and provides tips to try to postpone that date.
A new app called Death Clock allows users to predict their date of death and offers recommendations to extend that timeframe. Although there was already a version of Death Clock for iPod in 2006, developer Brett Franson explained that thanks to artificial intelligence, the current app is based on more than 1,200 studies on life expectancy, which represents a notable improvement compared to conventional life tables.
When I tested it, the questionnaire began with basic questions about age, gender, and ethnicity, but it also included more detailed inquiries about family history, mental health, and chronic illnesses. At the end of the process, the app predicted that my date of death would be February 28, 2074, with the possibility of reaching 90 years, or even 103 if I improved my habits.
Death Clock offers an annual subscription service for $40, which not only suggests ways to improve lifestyle habits but also includes a clock that shows the countdown to the estimated date of death. Although this date is intended to be shared online, it also has practical implications. According to financial planner Ryan Zabrowski, the main concern for many retirees is running out of money, so having accurate mortality estimates could be very helpful.
