The cost of AppleCare Plus is increasing.

The coverage for theft and loss will be automatically included for certain cases.

Apple has adjusted the cost of its monthly AppleCare subscription for iPhones, increasing the price by 50 cents, according to a report. This increase applies to both standard AppleCare Plus plans and those that include Theft and Loss coverage for the current range of iPhones. For example, the standard AppleCare Plus for the iPhone 16 will now cost $10.49 per month instead of $9.99.

Additionally, Apple has decided to eliminate the option for customers in the U.S. to pay for two years of AppleCare Plus for iPhones with a single upfront payment, whether in their physical stores or through the AppleCare menu. Users will now have to choose a monthly or annual plan. Theft and Loss coverage will be automatically included in these recurring plans, which could further raise the price.

However, Apple still offers fixed two-year plans through its online store, where it is also possible to purchase AppleCare Plus without Theft and Loss coverage.

In recent years, the company has increasingly focused its attention on the services and subscription business. In the last quarter, Apple reported that its service revenue reached an all-time high.
