The adaptation of God of War on Prime Video has a new showrunner from one of the best series on Apple TV Plus.

The God of War franchise is in excellent hands.

Prime Video has achieved notable success with its adaptation of Fallout, and now it is preparing to launch a series based on God of War. This popular video game franchise seems to be in competent hands, as Ronald D. Moore will take on the role of showrunner. Moore is known for his work on For All Mankind, acclaimed as one of Apple TV's best productions, and he has extensive experience in the science fiction genre, having been involved in series such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Battlestar Galactica. It will be interesting to see his interpretation of the God of War narrative.

As for what is known about the God of War series, the available information is still scarce. The production was announced in December 2022 and has been in development since then. According to reports, the plot will follow Kratos on his "dangerous journey with his estranged son" to fulfill his wife's last wish: "to spread her ashes from the highest peak." Throughout this journey, Kratos will realize that it is an epic adventure in disguise that will test the father-son relationship, leading him to confront new gods and monsters for the fate of the world.

With Moore's arrival, changes in the team are expected, raising uncertainty about potential modifications to the storyline. He replaces Rafe Judkins, suggesting that we might anticipate adjustments in the direction of the series.

Now that production has resumed, it will be exciting to see if it manages to join the ranks of the best series on Prime Video, which already includes standout titles. In a landscape where video game adaptations are improving, there are reasons to be optimistic about this project.
