Sony has released a new software update for the PlayStation 5. Version 24.07-10.20.00 is now available and is a minor update focused on improving the performance and stability of the operating system, as well as optimizing the usability of certain menus and on-screen messages.
One of the highlights of this update is how Activities are presented, which now appear categorized as 'In Progress,' 'Not Started,' or 'Completed,' depending on whether the user has initiated or completed the respective activity.
The update notes indicate the following:
- Activities are now displayed as In Progress, Not Started, or Completed.
- The performance and stability of the system software have been improved.
- Messages and usability in some screens have been optimized.
Last month, Sony also released one of its most significant updates for the PS5, which included a wide range of new features. Among the improvements were a new Welcome Hub and a new control interface on the main page that allows for a large number of customizable options. Additionally, trophy tracking and a battery life panel for DualSense, DualSense Edge, and PSVR 2 Sense controllers were included.
These recent updates for the PS5 come just ahead of the global launch of the PS5 Pro, scheduled for November 7, an upgraded version of the 2020 console that incorporates advanced technology, including Sony's new AI scaling software, PlayStation Spectral Super Revolution (PSSR).
