Sega introduces a new account system for players.

A Sega account will allow players to link all their games and services from both Sega and Atlus.

Sega has launched a new system to manage player accounts. With a Sega Account, users will be able to connect all their games and services from both Sega and Atlus. This system will also serve as a platform for both companies to share news, events, updates, and promotions related to their titles. Creating an account is free and available to anyone interested.

As an additional incentive, Sega will offer rewards and surprises to account members. The first gift that users can unlock is a DLC featuring a special outfit for Kazuma Kiryu for the game Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which will be released next month. This outfit can be redeemed by anyone who registers for a Sega Account before March 7.

At a time when many studios are adopting the games-as-a-service model, it has become common for players to create online accounts or profiles. Although Sega is a bit late to join this trend, there are certain industry-standard features that are still under development for Sega Accounts, such as a dedicated section for game play records. Currently, the website does not mention if or when account creation will be mandatory.

In announcing this new platform, Sega stated that "various new services and features will be coming soon." In addition to a new Virtua Fighter game on the way, the company has also retired some of its older classics. This transitional phase that Sega is undergoing promises to be interesting, leaving fans eager for what is to come in the near future.
