With the arrival of 2024, YouTube has presented its year-end list, highlighting the trends, creators, and moments that defined the digital landscape in India. Throughout the year, creators and audiences transformed brief instances into cultural phenomena, amassing billions of views on popular topics. The year-end trending list in India covers a wide range of subjects that captured the country's attention.

Highlighted events include the ICC T20 World Cup, the 2024 Indian Premier League, and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which are noted as the most significant. Cultural phenomena like “moye moye” and viral personalities like Ajju Bhai, along with admiration for Ratan Naval Tata and Anant Ambani, also attracted considerable attention. Other trending topics included the Lok Sabha elections, the upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD, and the music of prominent artist Diljit Dosanjh.

According to YouTube's year-end report, the most popular creators in India for 2024 include MrBeast with 332 million subscribers, Filmy Suraj Actor with 32.5 million, and Sujal Thakral with 33.5 million, alongside other figures such as Cristiano, Box of Vengeance, and Stokes Twins. In terms of music, the most popular songs include "Kurchi Madathapetti" by Sahithi Chaganti and Sri Krishna, "Jale 2" by Shiva Chaudhary, and "Aaj Ki Raat" by Madhubanti Bagchi and Divya Kumar. The most listened-to tracks in Shorts feature "Dhana" by Priyanka Meher and Rongpaz, and "Tauba Tauba" by Karan Aujla, which dominated the digital scene in 2024.

The popularity of Samay Raina was evident as his videos amassed over 1.5 billion views globally. In India, ICC T20-related productions surpassed 7 billion views, while videos containing "Ambani" and "Boda" in their titles reached over 6.5 billion views. The term "moye moye" generated more than 4.5 billion views, and those related to Diljit Dosanjh achieved over 3.9 billion. In 2024, YouTube Shorts in India highlighted hyper-local music in various languages, including Marathi and Garhwali, attracting global audiences. Creators like Priyal Kukreja valued female voices, while content encompassing memes, music, cricket, and celebrity weddings demonstrated how fans have evolved into active co-creators of trends.
