The Energy Score feature from Samsung is coming to another Galaxy watch.
The Galaxy AI features are coming to another Galaxy Watch model.
Samsung has made a significant launch for the Galaxy Watch FE, shortly after introducing its flagship model, the Galaxy Watch 7, in July 2024. Alongside other products like the Galaxy S24 FE and the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Tab S10 Ultra tablets, the company discreetly presented the Galaxy Watch FE LTE. This new model incorporates multiple artificial intelligence features that were previously only available on the Galaxy Watch 7.
One of the standout features being added to the Galaxy Watch FE is the Energy Score, designed to assess the user's recovery level and overall performance. This feature, along with some wellness tips, allows users to better contextualize their health data and compete with devices from other brands like Oura and Whoop. It's important to note that purchasing the Galaxy Watch 7 is not necessary to access these features, as Samsung has expanded the availability of AI health and activity tools to earlier models, including the Galaxy Watch FE.
The device is attractively priced at $199.99 / £199 and features a 1.2-inch touchscreen protected with sapphire glass, offering resistance against drops and scratches. Inside, it houses an Exynos W920 processor with 1.5GB of RAM, operating on Wear OS accompanied by Samsung's One UX customizations. Additionally, it has a BioActive sensor that enables activity, health, and sleep tracking, and already included some limited AI features related to sleep.
Furthermore, the arrival of the Galaxy Watch FE with LTE connectivity represents a notable improvement. This new model is available for pre-order at a price of $249.99 / £249 and will begin shipping in early October. Besides retaining all the functionalities of the original version, the LTE option will allow users to stay connected without needing to rely on a mobile phone, as long as they are subscribed to a plan with their wireless service provider. Moreover, this model is expected to receive an update by the end of 2024 that will include the Energy Score and potentially other features.
The Galaxy Watch FE models will be available in black, silver, and gold colors, in both Bluetooth and WiFi versions as well as the LTE version.
