I tried the new LG speakers designed in collaboration with will.i.am, and I really love them.

During CES 2025, LG unveiled its new range of Bluetooth speakers, developed in collaboration with musician and occasional entrepreneur will.i.am. Although technological collaborations with celebrities often generate skepticism due to unsatisfactory results in the past, the demonstration of the 'xboom by will.i.am' speakers exceeded expectations, even when compared to some of the best Bluetooth speakers on the market.
This product line offers powerful sound, characterized by solid bass that is complemented by crisp highs and good mid-range presence, despite the speakers varying in size and therefore also in their sound characteristics. During the demonstration, the xboom Grab was showcased, a cylinder roughly the size of a JBL Flip 6, designed to fit into a car's cup holder. While specific prices have not yet been announced, it is estimated that it could cost around $129.95 / £129.99 / AU$175.
Despite its compact size, the xboom Grab provides satisfactory bass response while maintaining clarity in the mid and high ranges. The competition in this category is intense, but this speaker stands out as one to watch once reviews are conducted.
However, the model that garnered the most attention was the LG xboom Stage 301. This robust device, designed as stage speakers, features a functional design that allows it to be angled to enhance sound projection, making it ideal for events. Additionally, it can be used in various ways: as a PA system, for karaoke, or parties, thanks to its versatility.
The xboom Stage 301 incorporates a 6.5-inch woofer and two 2.5-inch midrange drivers. Despite the absence of a tweeter, its warm and immersive sound is very appealing. In the brief demonstration, the speaker exhibited deep, balanced bass and impressive clarity in vocals and details, creating an energetic and fun listening experience. This speaker stands out in a market currently seeking innovations in party music, marking the first demonstration that made me consider its purchase.
Prices and official release dates have not yet been revealed, except for indications pointing to 2025.
