Here comes iOS 18.3.2: Everything new it brings.

It is important that you perform an update for security reasons, especially.

Apple has released update 18.3.2 for iOS and iPadOS, which begins rolling out to compatible iPhones and iPads on Wednesday. This update is not extensive, so let's get to the point.

In general terms, Apple has opted for a standard description of the update. The Cupertino company reports that this release “delivers important bug fixes, security updates, and resolves an issue that could prevent the streaming of certain content.” It is common for Apple not to disclose or discuss security issues until a thorough investigation has been conducted and the necessary fixes applied, so details regarding the security updates remain unknown for the moment.

However, there are a couple of aspects to highlight in this update. It includes an additional patch for a WebKit vulnerability that was previously fixed in iOS 17.2. This flaw allowed a specially crafted website to escape the Web Content sandbox and cause issues on devices. Another point to emphasize is that the update reactivates Apple Intelligence by default, meaning that users who prefer not to use this feature will need to go back into the settings to disable it again. While this situation may be somewhat annoying, it is something that iPhone and iPad owners will have to get used to with each update, as similar behavior was reported following the update to iOS 18.3.1.

Aside from that, the update is quite straightforward. Still, it is crucial to ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of the operating system to avoid any inconvenience. Along with iOS 18.3.2, Apple has also released updates for Safari, as well as macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 for Macs, visionOS 2.3.2 for Apple Vision Pro, and tvOS 18.3.1 for Apple TV devices.

The devices that will receive iOS 18.3.2 include:

  • All iPhones from the iPhone XS generation to the latest iPhone 16
  • 13-inch iPad Pro
  • 12.9-inch 3rd generation iPad Pro and later versions
  • 11-inch 1st generation iPad Pro and later versions
  • 3rd generation iPad Air and later versions
  • 7th generation iPad and later versions
  • 5th generation iPad mini and later versions

To install iOS 18.3.2, the process is the same as for any other update. If you don’t want to do it manually, you should receive a notification to update your iPhone or iPad, and you just need to start the process from there. If you prefer to do it manually, go to Settings, then General. There, select Software Update, and the update should appear. Press the Update Now button to install the update. The device will restart once the process is complete.
