Apple Photos Might Surprise You in iOS 18.4: Discover 4 New Improvements on the Way.

Get ready for new management and organization tools.

The recent update of Apple's iOS 18.4 will bring several interesting improvements to the Photos app. Among the new features are enhanced filtering options and a new setting for privacy management. This version is expected to be officially released sometime in April.

The operating system is currently in testing phases for both developers and beta users. Although there was speculation that Siri would integrate artificial intelligence functions in this update, the preliminary versions have shown no signs of this functionality, confirming delays in the implementation of certain features.

Regarding the Photos app, the update incorporates four notable changes. Improvements in filtering are one of the anticipated features, allowing users to manage their galleries more efficiently and effectively. These functionalities are particularly valuable for those who use the app to organize and view their photo collection.

One of the main additions is a set of privacy options that will allow users to disable certain albums. It is now possible to hide the "Recently Viewed" and "Recently Shared" galleries from the app's settings, making these albums only accessible through the Utilities section.

Additionally, two new filtering options have been implemented in the gallery. With the arrival of iOS 18.4, users will be able to access the "Shared with you" and "Not in an album" tabs, simplifying the search for specific images without having to scroll through the entire gallery. New sorting options have also been added, allowing albums to be organized by name, custom order, or modification date.

Finally, the functionality for recovering and deleting photos has been updated. Although it is not a completely new feature, the option for managing deleted photos has been revamped. With this update, the "Recently Deleted" album will include a new icon that allows users to permanently delete all erased images easily. At the same time, all photos can also be recovered using the new "Recover All" button.
