Google Docs introduces 40 new templates to enhance your documents.

More options to customize your document.

Google Docs has begun rolling out 40 new templates to make documents more visually appealing. These pageless templates cover a broader range of situations, whether drafting a blog article, creating a project plan, or crafting an interview guide.

The company emphasizes that its "modern and high-quality" templates come with preset formats and styles. They also incorporate some of the latest features of Google Docs, such as tabs that allow for better organization of documents and placeholder chips that indicate to others the information they need to fill in.

Although I haven't been able to view the new templates yet, Google mentions that the full rollout could take up to 15 days. However, it is encouraging to see that Google is enriching its design offerings, as Docs was previously believed to lack the same variety and quality of templates compared to Microsoft Word and Canva.

Users can access the templates in Docs by selecting the "Templates" button at the top of a new document or by going to File > New > From template gallery. These updates will be available to all users with a personal Google account, as well as to Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers. Additionally, the company plans to release "even more high-quality template options for Docs in the coming months."
