Blizzard announces an online event for the 30th anniversary of Warcraft next month.
Blizzard will commemorate the 30th anniversary of Warcraft with a live-streamed event.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Warcraft universe, but there will be no BlizzCon gathering to celebrate it. Instead, Blizzard has chosen to host a live streaming event. The company has announced that its special broadcast, Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, will start at 1 PM ET on Wednesday, November 13. This event will be available to watch through Blizzard's official streaming channels on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.
At the moment, there are not many details about what Warcraft fans can expect during the broadcast, aside from a special concert honoring the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft. After the broadcast, Blizzard will present a live concert titled World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music, from Switzerland. The 21st Century Orchestra and the choirs Tales of Fantasy, Ardito, and Madrijazz Gospel will perform selected pieces from the iconic soundtrack of the MMORPG.
Activision Blizzard announced in April that there would be no BlizzCon event this year despite the significant milestone of WoW. This change may be related to the difficult times the company has faced in recent years. Microsoft included Activision Blizzard in a round of layoffs that affected 1,900 employees, along with ZeniMax, earlier this year, and months later, the studio established the largest union in the industry.
