What is Flex in Valorant?
Riot Games has released a new item called Flex in Valorant's update 10. Below, the function of Flex is explained, as well as how you can equip and use it in your Valorant matches.
Riot Games has introduced a new feature called Flex in version 10 of Valorant. Although the game does not often receive significant updates frequently, it has been experimenting recently, as evidenced by the addition of the Regen Shield. Flex is a new type of item that can cause confusion among players since its primary use is cosmetic rather than functional.
This new aesthetic item appears as one that players hold in their hands. According to the company, Flex serves as another avenue for expression for players and allows interaction with it before or during matches, similar to how one can inspect their weapon or perform melee actions. All players will receive a free Flex known as STAT-COM, and the only other Flex available at this time is part of the Battle Pass, represented by a floating snowflake. It is important to note that the Flex animations do not affect gameplay, as they are only visible in first person and not in third, and they do not modify the hitbox, preventing opponents from gaining an advantage from it.
To start using Flex in Valorant, players need to add the item to their emote menu. From the main menu, they must access their collection and edit the emote wheel. By making this adjustment, they will be able to switch between sprays and Flex. It will require sacrificing a space in the spray wheel to free up a slot for Flex; in-game, players can press the T key to open the emote wheel, select the Flex, and perform the corresponding animation by clicking the left mouse button. When interacting with the STAT-COM, the screen will change, and with the snowflake, it will begin to spin.
Flex was introduced with Patch 10, released on January 8, and the company plans to add more Flex items in future Battle Passes. These items will likely always be available in the premium Battle Pass, meaning players will need to spend 1,000 Valorant Points to unlock premium rewards.
