You can now sign up to try the cooperative spin-off of Elden Ring.

You can now sign up to participate in a closed network test of the Elden Ring spinoff that will take place in February.

The Bandai Namco firm has opened registration for the closed network test of Elden Ring Nightreign. The registration period for this cooperative spinoff began on January 10 at 9 AM ET and will run until January 20 at 9 AM ET. Interested players can sign up on the Bandai Namco website.

The network test will take place over five different sessions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, scheduled between February 14 and 15. During these days, users will have access from 6 AM ET to 9 AM ET and from 10 PM ET to 1 AM ET the following day to test the game.

Selected players will have the opportunity to experience "a portion of the game before the official release," as indicated on the Bandai Namco registration page. The goal of this test is to evaluate the capability of the servers and online systems to handle a large number of players connected simultaneously. As for the content available to explore, Bandai Namco has stated that players will be able to experience the cooperative mode of the game, forming teams of three players to tackle a three-day cycle filled with increasingly challenging enemies and bosses.

Nightreign incorporates many of the mechanics, armor, weapons, and abilities known from Elden Ring but takes place in a revamped environment called "Limveld," which transforms with each playthrough. You will start each cycle in the familiar Roundtable Hold, where you can choose from eight characters with unique abilities and "Ultimates." The map of Limveld will shrink each night and feature a new boss that, when defeated, will allow players to progress to the next day. This process will repeat until the third night, where players will face a "Nightlord." If at any point you fail to complete a cycle and have to restart, you can obtain a reliquary that allows you to "customize and enhance" your character.

Elden Ring Nightreign was unexpectedly announced at the 2024 Game Awards, causing quite a stir, not only because Shadow of the Erdtree was released that same year, but also because the structure of the game appears to be significantly different from what developer FromSoftware has presented in the past. Those fortunate enough to participate in the network test will discover just how different this experience truly is.
