Tired of tracking cookies? This browser promises to eliminate them from our lives, which could make me switch from Chrome.
We present the Aloha browser.
Aloha browser has introduced a new cookie consent management feature. This tool allows users to automatically accept or block cookies according to their preferences, and it is currently being rolled out on the iOS app, with an Android launch expected in 2025.
This update addresses a common complaint among browsers: repeated cookie requests that can disrupt the browsing experience. Many users choose to accept all cookies without reflecting on the information they are sharing. With the new feature, users can set their cookie preferences directly within the browser settings, making it easier to manage cookie requests.
Users have the option to reject all cookies, accept certain types of cookies, or even accept or reject cookies from a specific website. To activate this feature, users just need to go to Aloha's settings menu and find the GDPR Consent options within the AdBlock settings. From there, cookie preferences can be easily adjusted.
Aloha's founder, Andrew Frost, mentioned that this approach gives users greater freedom to manage their privacy without being constantly interrupted by cookie pop-ups. While browsers like Safari and Google Chrome have implemented cookie management tools, Aloha's solution is positioned as more customizable, which could inspire its competitors to adopt similar features.
During this time, even as a regular Chrome user, the introduction of this new feature is making me consider the possibility of switching to Aloha until other browsers offer similar conveniences.
