TikTok recommends Android users in the United States to install the app manually.

TikTok has made the installation packages for Android available on its official website.

In the United States, even though TikTok is not yet available on the Play Store, Android users can download and install the app directly from the official website. Recently, the TikTok Policy account announced on Twitter the availability of Android Package Kits to facilitate this action. Sideloading is not something companies typically recommend, but TikTok presents itself as an exceptional case.

The app was temporarily removed on January 19 in response to a law that prohibits its use in the country unless its parent company, ByteDance, finds a U.S. buyer. The legislation states that if app stores like Apple's and Google's do not remove TikTok, they could face a fine of $5,000 for each U.S. user who downloads the app. Despite this setback, TikTok restored access to its service in less than a day, although it is still not available on the app stores of Google and Apple in the country.

To assist its community, TikTok has released Android Package Kits, allowing Android users in the U.S. to download the app and continue creating, discovering, and connecting on the platform. Additional information is available in their help center.

An executive order signed by former President Donald Trump established a 75-day pause in enforcing the law that bans TikTok, granting ByteDance until April to negotiate a deal. Trump tasked Vice President J.D. Vance with leading the negotiations for a possible sale before the deadline. Although ByteDance has previously stated it has no intentions of selling the app, one of its major investors has suggested that a deal would be beneficial for everyone. Several companies and individuals, such as Perplexity AI and MrBeast, have expressed interest in acquiring TikTok in the United States.
