Three Must-See Hulu Movies to Watch This Weekend (November 8-10)

This weekend, we bring you our selection of three incredible movies on Hulu that offer a mix of romance, action, and war.

There are only two long holiday weekends left in 2024, as Christmas and New Year’s Day fall in the middle of the week. This means there's an extra day to catch up on movies you’ve wanted to see on Hulu. If you need recommendations, here are three excellent Hulu films you shouldn't miss this weekend.

The first recommendation is one of the best romantic comedy musicals to come out in decades. The movie "La La Land" (2016) brings back the charm of musicals, dazzling audiences with its nostalgic aesthetics and catchy songs. Although it didn't win the Oscar for Best Picture in 2017, Emma Stone was awarded Best Actress for her role as Mia Dolan, a young actress navigating the depths of the Hollywood system. Ryan Gosling, known for "Barbie," co-stars as Sebastian “Seb” Wilder, a musician who, caught up in his own troubles, often pushes Mia away. However, their love blossoms, even as facing their professional aspirations presents a greater challenge. "La La Land" is available to watch on Hulu.

The second movie is "Hellboy" (2019), starring David Harbour. While it doesn't match the quality of Guillermo del Toro's 2004 adaptation, the 2019 film compares favorably to "Hellboy: The Crooked Man." Harbour plays Hellboy, a demon raised by his adoptive father, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm. When the hero is betrayed during a mission for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, he also faces the threat of Vivienne Nimue, known as the Blood Queen, who seeks to use Hellboy to unleash an apocalypse. "Hellboy" is available to watch on Hulu.

Finally, "Tigerland" (2000), directed by Joel Schumacher, is considered one of his best works. This Vietnam War film curiously does not take place in the country in conflict. Colin Farrell stands out as Private Roland Bozz, who would rather be anywhere than training for war. His new friend, Private Jim Paxton, is more excited about combat until both face the brutal demands of training. In turn, Bozz becomes the target of another recruit, Private Wilson, who seems to become increasingly unhinged. "Tigerland" is available to watch on Hulu.
