The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25 Plus Have a Charging Issue: Here’s the Solution.
A problem classified as 5A can be solved with a 3A solution.
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25 Plus are reporting issues with charging their devices, which do not reach the advertised 45W charging speed. Some even mention that their devices do not charge at all. This issue has been discussed on forums such as Reddit and in the official Samsung community.
The problem seems to mainly arise when using Samsung's 45W charger along with the 5A USB-C cable included in the Galaxy S25 box. In light of this, Samsung Italy suggested in a post that using the included 3A cable might resolve the issue.
Regarding a software solution, Samsung mentioned that they are working on an update that will address this issue. In fact, the rollout of an initial update for the Galaxy S25 series has already begun, although it does not specify whether it fixes this particular bug. Users are advised to download this update, as it includes other fixes and security patches.
If the update does not resolve the issue, it is recommended to try alternating with a 3A cable or using a lower power charger. Another option is to disable the fast charging feature on the device. As a last resort, users may resort to wireless charging while waiting for a definitive solution. It is important to note that owners of the base Galaxy S25 model, which has a charging limit of 25W, do not report the same problems.
