A mistake on the Steam page reveals more details about Elden Ring: Nightreign.

A message on the Steam page for Elden Ring: Nightreign hints that more playable characters may be included in the game in the future.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, a highly anticipated multiplayer title, may include downloadable content offering additional characters and bosses to play. This information came from a line of text that briefly appeared on the Steam page before being removed by FromSoftware, suggesting it was not meant to be public yet. A report mentions that the phrase at the end of the description read: “Additional DLC: playable additional characters and bosses.” The presence of bosses from previous Souls titles was anticipated, and this line hints at more surprises to come.

Unlike Elden Ring, Nightreign will allow players to use predefined characters instead of creating their own. This could mean the possibility of playing as the Chosen Undead, the Curse Bearer, or the Ashen One, perhaps in the form of concept art for each of them. This multiplayer proposal represents an excellent opportunity for FromSoftware to include details and nods for the long-time fans of the series.

Nightreign will take a different approach compared to previous games. Instead of the spectacle of Elden Ring, it will resemble more of a roguelike. Players can venture alone or team up with two others to battle on a constantly shrinking map until the final showdown against the boss. A complete match is expected to last less than an hour, and players will have the option to choose from eight different classes.

The release date for Elden Ring: Nightreign is set for May 30 on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Recently, FromSoftware conducted a network test, but thousands of players were unable to access it, prompting the studio to consider holding another test for those who wish to experience what Nightreign has to offer.
