Retroid has unveiled the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, the successor to its first handheld console, the Pocket Flip, which is set to be available this spring. This compact device promises to be an ideal choice for retro gaming enthusiasts, although it does not include a secondary screen for DS games. The company made the announcement on its Discord, showcasing a render that evokes the design of the GameCube, highlighting its purple shell reminiscent of the original indigo model and the bright yellow joystick on the right side, suggesting it should be capable of running titles like Super Mario Sunshine.

In this new version, the layout of the front buttons and joysticks has been improved, bringing them closer together. A significant change is the removal of the joystick sliders, which generated dissatisfaction among some users, replaced by sunk-in joysticks. Additionally, the speakers have been relocated to prevent hands from covering them during gameplay, unlike the previous model.

The render also hints at the possible arrival of another handheld console in the Retroid line, although the company has not provided further information on this, leading to speculation. So far, Retroid has not released details about the specifications of the Pocket Flip 2, so it's unclear what level of power it will offer.
