The next Nintendo Zelda installment features an underappreciated advantage: the ability to repair item durability.

The Zelda Notes feature will give players the opportunity to roll once a day for the chance to repair their equipment.

The new app called Zelda Notes, which will be available for the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of the games Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, has been the subject of extensive discussion. This app brings various functionalities, among which navigation assistance and the ability to automatically share builds stand out. Moreover, it introduces an intriguing feature: the possibility of repairing weapons within the game.

Although Nintendo has not provided many details about this function, its features page mentions that users can "try their luck once a day in Zelda Notes," which can result in hearts, food, or various effects. A well-known Zelda YouTuber, Zeltik, has shared a video highlighting some of these functionalities, including the possible benefits players can gain through the Daily Bonus effect, including "Equipment Repairs." There are some methods to repair damaged items in Tears of the Kingdom, although they are not always effective. This new trick with Zelda Notes offers an additional option to keep weapons in perfect condition, although it relies on a random bonus that can only be activated once every 24 hours. It is believed that this addition will not unbalance the game but will serve as an extra attraction for players.

The versions of the games for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be launched along with the console on June 5, and the Zelda Notes functionality is expected to be available on that same date. Those who already own the games will be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version for a cost of $10 each. However, if they are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, both upgrades will be included in the subscription at no additional cost. In addition to improving performance, the new versions will implement achievements through the Zelda Notes feature, allowing players to track how many shrines they have completed, how many locations they have visited, and more, both compared to friends and on a global leaderboard. So if you've been thinking about restarting a game, this summer presents an excellent opportunity to save Hyrule once again.
