Apple's intelligence will arrive on the Apple Watch in a limited way.

Although the Apple Watch will not run Apple Intelligence natively, it will have some functionalities through the iPhone.

In his most recent newsletter, Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple expert, revealed that the Apple Watch will not incorporate Apple Intelligence in its upcoming update. However, new useful features powered by artificial intelligence are expected. While the smartwatch is not anticipated to undergo significant changes, new elements will be introduced in the interface that will allow users to experience some of the important changes taking shape within the company.

Details about these modifications will be revealed during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Gurman has mentioned that the two main themes of the June event will revolve around Apple Intelligence and a new internal design language known as Solarium, which the company plans to adopt for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

According to Gurman, "the smartwatch will not currently feature Apple Intelligence, and that situation will not change with the arrival of the new watchOS 12 software. However, the company has begun to offer a new set of features under the label 'powered by Apple Intelligence,' even though the device is not directly running artificial intelligence models."

Although none of these features have been officially confirmed, previous rumors suggest they could include notification summaries and similar functionalities for wearable devices. There is also the possibility of an anticipated Siri overhaul through a wireless update.

Gurman hinted that Apple has plans to make changes to the hardware of the Apple Watch in the coming years, though he did not provide a specific timeline. He suggested that AI-enabled cameras could be incorporated into the device (and possibly into the AirPods) during that period, following the success of Meta's glasses.

Despite the lack of a clear date for the arrival of these innovations, it appears that Apple is accelerating its research to remain competitive. Therefore, more information is expected to be provided by the company in June during the WWDC, with updates rolling out in the following months.
