The new Sony Bravia home theater systems are bolder and brighter.

We had the opportunity to test Sony's latest home theater equipment, featuring its brand new OLED television.

Sony recently introduced its latest lineup of home cinema products, which includes exciting new features that stand out in the market. Although many of these devices are still in prototype stage, a promising future with cutting-edge technologies is anticipated.

One of the main launches is the new Bravia 8 II, available in 55 and 65-inch sizes. Despite its less impactful name, this model is considered Sony's flagship for 2025, surpassing previous models in brightness. It utilizes a Samsung QD-OLED panel, allowing it to deliver better color and brightness performance, alongside advanced technology such as XR Tiluminous Max for image optimization. During tests, this television demonstrated impressive color accuracy and saturation in high-quality content.

Another notable addition is the Bravia 5, which features mini-LED technology and will be available in various sizes ranging from 55 to 98 inches. This model aims to attract those seeking a quality option at a more affordable price, although it has limitations regarding color accuracy at wide viewing angles. Its XR Backlight Master Drive technology helps improve backlighting performance.

Meanwhile, the Bravia 2 II is a more budget-friendly model arriving in the United States with slight updates, aimed at being a competitive option in the low-cost segment. Although its capabilities are more basic, it provides adequate performance in color and contrast, especially if the price is right.

Additionally, the Bravia Projector 7 promises to be a more economical choice within the high-end projector lineup. With 4K HDR resolution and a brightness of 2,200 lumens, it offers advanced features and is compatible with Imax Enhanced. In demonstrations, it displayed improved performance in HDR scenes compared to previous models, although it requires manual focus, which could be a drawback for some.

In the audio realm, the new Bravia Theater System 6 stands out, combining a 5.1 surround sound system with a powerful subwoofer. While the setup is somewhat unusual, its performance was solid, offering a warm mid-range and good enveloping range. The Bravia Theater Bar 6 was also introduced, featuring drivers that provide a 3D audio experience.

These innovations affirm Sony's commitment to quality and performance in its home entertainment product lineup as they prepare for a competitive year in 2025.
