The new Mickey 17 trailer reminds us of the importance of reading the fine print.

Mickey 17 poses an intriguing question: how many 3D-printed clones are needed to transform a planet?

As the premiere of Mickey 17 approaches in a few weeks, a new trailer has been released that highlights the film's vision of terraforming alien planets, depicting it as a rather terrifying experience, especially for the working class. In this adaptation of a future where humanity seeks to colonize other worlds, every person plays a crucial role. However, in the recent trailer, it is evident that Mickey Barnes, played by Robert Pattinson, has no idea of the implications of being "expendable" on a ship heading to the desolate frozen planet Niflheim.

Throughout the trailer, Mickey seemingly does not notice anything strange about his crewmates staying on the ship while encouraging him to go outside with his helmet off, suggesting that he take a deep breath of the virus-laden air. His carefree attitude becomes apparent when his small adventure results in a fatal infection, leading him to cough up blood. This situation, although terrifying, is exactly what his colleagues expect from him, as his role is that of a guinea pig who dies repeatedly before being cloned through a 3D printer.

The trailer, while increasingly unsettling, also incorporates a sense of humor that underscores how absurd the situation Mickey has gotten himself into is. With the release of Mickey 17 set for March 7th, this story is likely to remind us of the importance of carefully reading employment contracts.
