Polyend introduces a fully programmable rhythm machine in the form of a pedal.
Polyend has recently introduced a new pedalboard that also functions as a drum machine. The Step is now available for purchase.
This year's NAMM event has begun, which means numerous innovations are being presented in the world of musical instruments. A notable example is the launch of the Polyend Step, a hybrid device that combines the functions of a standard guitar pedal with those of a drum machine. This equipment is described as a "programmable and full drum machine in a floor pedal format," making it an attractive option for those seeking accompaniment while playing guitar or any other instrument. In addition to being an excellent tool for practice, it presents itself as a valuable resource for those playing the role of "a one-man band."
Although drum pedals are not a new concept, the Step elevates the experience to a new level. It offers over 200 drum kits and 350 preset rhythmic patterns. These patterns are designed in 16 steps but can be combined to create full songs, allowing the pedal to store more than 1,000 compositions. Additionally, users can create drum patterns from scratch using the built-in step sequencer, which features four tracks to work with. Each track includes a wide variety of adjustable parameters, including swing, velocity, step probability, velocity control, and more.
The device also includes over 50 effects that can be applied to each song, allowing for the selection of up to 16 of them. These effects encompass a variety of delays and reverbs, and can be easily activated using footswitches. In terms of connectivity, the Step stands out with MIDI inputs and outputs for synchronization, guitar jacks, stereo inputs and outputs, and a microSD card reader. It is currently available for a price of $500. Polyend is a brand primarily recognized for its sequencing devices, such as the Polyend Tracker and the Tracker Mini.
