The new Kia concept invites you to enjoy a picnic inside your car.

Kia is adding a new model to its line of electric vehicles, the Concept EV2, and showcased its interior at Milan Design Week. This design features unique details that set it apart from a conventional interior, both in functionality and in the materials used, creating a concept focused on picnics.

Kia has unveiled a new model in its electric vehicle lineup, the Concept EV2, during Milan Design Week, showcasing an innovative and original interior. This concept focuses on the picnic experience, offering a flexible and open design. The cabin features a flat floor, rear seats that can fold down, and front seats that slide back, creating an ideal space for relaxing and sharing snacks instead of carrying bulky items.

Various details complement this idea, such as removable seat cushions and portable speakers. This allows drivers to stop in scenic locations, pull out these accessories, and enjoy the natural surroundings. Although the Concept EV2 has a projected range of at least 300 miles, its design is more geared toward affordable urban mobility than long-distance travel.

The “city picnic” concept aims to harmonize functionality and leisure, enabling users to run their errands during the week and explore beautiful places over the weekend. Features include extendable rear seats, built-in speakers in the headrests, and pop-up luggage dividers, all designed to maximize the compact space. The materials used are eco-friendly, incorporating cellulose-based composites in the dashboard and door panels, as well as biodegradable components made from mushroom-like cells for the armrests, which combine waste into a solid structure.

This mini SUV is expected to go on sale next year, with a price tag of around $30,000.
