The new Framework Desktop mini PC marks the dawn of a golden age for compact devices by opening the door to powerful 128GB AI computers.

Framework Desktop offers a high level of customization and has an initial price of $1,099.

Framework has introduced its first mini PC, known as the Framework Desktop, which stands out as a compact and customizable device. With dimensions of 96.8 mm x 205.5 mm x 226.1 mm and a weight of 3.1 kg, this mini PC has a capacity of 4.5 liters. It is currently available for pre-order in its DIY version, with a base price of $1099 and scheduled shipping for the third quarter of 2025.

The Framework Desktop delivers high-performance features thanks to its AMD Ryzen AI Max processors, which provide significant customization options. The Ryzen AI Max 385 model features 8 cores and 16 threads, reaching a base clock of 3.6GHz with a boost up to 5.0GHz, while the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 takes these specifications to 16 cores and 32 threads, with a base clock of 3.0GHz and a boost up to 5.1GHz. Both processors incorporate GPUs and an NPU that delivers impressive performance.

Regarding memory, users can choose between 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of LPDDR5x-8000, depending on the selected processor. For storage, the system has two NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, each with a limit of 8TB. The motherboard follows the Mini-ITX format and can support up to four displays, with connectivity including Wi-Fi 7, 5Gbit Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, USB-C with USB4, and USB-A 3.2 Gen 1.

For thermal management, the system offers cooling options from well-known brands and features a custom heatsink that includes six copper heat pipes. The 400W FlexATX power supply meets ATX 3.0 standards and is equipped with an efficient cooling fan.

The mini PC chassis is made from 30% recycled plastic and 50% recycled aluminum. One of the most attractive features is the customizable front panel, allowing for the placement of up to 21 tiles, in addition to offering a choice of black or translucent side panels.
