LinkedIn Learning could be the course app that makes a difference.

Heroes of the Home Screen: LinkedIn Learning offers over 21,000 courses taught by experts, all for an affordable monthly fee.

The growing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into our lives raises questions about how to adapt our skills in a constantly evolving world. These doubts have led many, including the author of this experience, to explore online learning platforms, with LinkedIn Learning being one of the main options to consider.

The app was launched on September 22, 2016, following the acquisition of Lynda.com in 2015, which allowed LinkedIn to offer a vast amount of educational content. Currently, it features over 21,000 expert-led courses covering topics from business and technology to creativity, some of which even provide professional certificates.

With AI in mind, the author decided to start the course "Microsoft Copilot: The Art of Prompt Writing." From the first video clip, which serves as a preview of the course, it was able to capture his interest, encouraging him to continue with the content. As he learned to write better questions and commands for tools like Teams, Word, and PowerPoint, he enjoyed the benefit of unlimited access to the videos, allowing for self-paced learning.

Although this format is very convenient, the author suggests that the inclusion of written transcripts for each video could enhance the learning experience, especially in contexts where watching a video is not possible. Completing the course left the author more prepared to understand Copilot's capabilities and motivated him to explore related content.

Each course comes with additional information that helps users determine if it’s right for them, such as rating sections and a content summary. However, the lack of feedback from other students limited the ability to assess the course’s usefulness. While there is a Q&A section, the author would prefer having a series of more detailed reviews.

Access to LinkedIn Learning is free to download, but a subscription is required to access most content. LinkedIn Premium offers full access to the training library, but the monthly cost of $39.99 / £39.99 can be a barrier. Despite this, the author has found the platform valuable for expanding his knowledge, although he questions whether this education will be formally recognized by employers in the future.

Ultimately, the LinkedIn Learning app is available for iOS and Android devices, enabling users to explore its educational potential anytime and anywhere.
