The iPhone 15 Pro will feature Visual Intelligence in iOS 18.4.
The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to gain Visual Intelligence compatibility in the action button with the upcoming iOS 18.4 update, according to the latest beta version of the system.
The Visual Intelligence feature, which was initially exclusive to the iPhone 16 line with Camera Control, will soon be available for older iPhone models. It had been anticipated that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max could access this technology at some point, and it has now been confirmed that it will be one of the options assignable to the action button in the second beta of iOS 18.4.
Visual Intelligence allows users to leverage AI models from Google and OpenAI to gather information and access websites about any object that the iPhone camera focuses on. Additionally, this tool can facilitate the integration of brochure data into the calendar and, interestingly, also identify dog breeds. Previously, this feature required holding down the Camera Control on the iPhone 16, but with the arrival of the iPhone 16e, Apple has made it easier to access it through the action button. Given that the A17 Pro chip in the iPhone 15 Pro has enough RAM to enable additional Apple Intelligence features, it makes sense for its action button to be included in this update.
iOS 18.4 is currently in beta and is expected to be released in April. In addition to expanding compatibility with Visual Intelligence, the update will also introduce a new recipes section in Apple News called Apple News+ Food. It had previously been reported that iOS 18.4 would mark the debut of an enhanced version of Siri, which could interact within apps, although that functionality will arrive at a later date.
