We are in a new era of artificial intelligence. Google has launched an AI-based video creator that is available in selected editions of Google Workspace. With Google Vids, videos for work and marketing can be created using files from Google Drive and descriptions, leveraging the Gemini AI model. Users have the option to start a video from scratch or use a predefined template as a base for a first draft. Additionally, there is an option called "Help me create," where Gemini can suggest scripts to facilitate the start of the video.
The platform is not limited to the templates offered. Google Vids allows the incorporation of personal photos and videos into the projects. It also features a virtual recording studio, enabling users to add personalized content, record videos of themselves, or create audio tracks with their voice to accompany the video.
Google announced this new video creation tool in April, leveraging the Gemini AI model. Unlike other creators like Runway's Gen-2 or OpenAI's Sora, which generate videos from scratch, Google Vids compiles a kind of presentation, using different types of media and organizing them according to the content of the source documents or the suggestions entered by the user. As part of Google Workspace, this tool allows real-time collaboration on a video project with other team members.
Google Vids will be available for users of Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Essentials, Enterprise Essentials, and Enterprise Essentials Plus.
