The gameplay trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 confirms its release for PS5 and Xbox.

In 2021, the existence of The Outer Worlds 2 was announced, and now, more than three years later, we have evidence to support this claim.

Since 2021, there have been reports about the existence of The Outer Worlds 2, and now, more than three years later, a new indication has arrived to confirm this claim: a gameplay trailer has been released. This new preview, presented at The Game Awards, reveals a vibrant universe filled with flora, fauna, and weaponry, all featuring that classic touch of humor characteristic of Obsidian.

The tone of the trailer plays with the idea that The Outer Worlds 2 is simply an expansion of the original game, offering more action, more weapons, and better graphics. While this might seem like a simple joke, it is actually not a bad proposal for a new title. The Outer Worlds, released in 2019, provided a captivating universe filled with quirky characters and unusual adventures, complemented by a dystopian science fiction atmosphere and a good dose of dark satire. Obsidian, the studio developing the game, is known for its work on Fallout: New Vegas, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II, and Neverwinter Nights, and its new RPG proposal follows a similar line.

A highlighted aspect of the trailer is the confirmation that The Outer Worlds 2 will be available for PlayStation 5. Although Obsidian is part of Microsoft, it was unclear until now whether the sequel would be an Xbox exclusive. The release date is scheduled for 2025, and the game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass, PS5, and PC via Steam.

Additionally, Obsidian is working on another project titled Avowed, which promises to be an exciting addition to next year's fantasy RPG lineup. Avowed is scheduled to release on PC and Xbox Series X/S on February 18, 2025.
