The first expansion of Star Wars Outlaws adds Lando to the game.
The downloadable content is released along with a major update.
After its initial launch a few months ago, the game Star Wars Outlaws will receive major updates. Among the new features, its first downloadable content will be included, featuring a new storyline centered around Lando Calrissian, who becomes involved in a dangerous game of Sabacc. This expansion is titled Wild Card, and a second DLC called A Pirate’s Fortune is anticipated to be available next spring.
In addition to the new expansion, Outlaws will also receive a significant patch designed to address various technical and design issues within the game. Ubisoft has characterized this update as the "biggest to date." One of the most notable changes is the overhaul of the stealth sections, which had generated frustration among many players.
The update will allow players greater freedom in stealth and combat mechanics, offering the option to choose between stealth or using the blaster, even in gang-controlled territories within the cities. Improvements have also been made to enemy AI, alerting players when they are detected and allowing them to decide whether to escalate the situation or change their approach to maintain stealth.
Creative director Drew Rechner explained that the first step to expanding the options available to players was to remove forced stealth in nearly all mission objectives. This does not mean that stealth will cease to be a viable or preferable option in certain instances; rather than a stealth encounter causing mission failure and reverting to the last checkpoint, the transition to combat will be seamless.
Aside from the content updates, it is important to note that while Outlaws has been available on PC since its launch, it was initially only purchasable through the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect. From now on, the game will also be accessible on Steam.
