A special battery sets this new phone apart from the others.

The new Honor Magic7 Lite features a silicon and carbon battery that provides superior capacity compared to usual.

Honor has unveiled its new smartphone, the Magic7 Lite, which is distinguished by incorporating a special silicon-carbon battery, positioning itself as an innovative option within the mid-range segment. This type of battery, less common than the traditional lithium-ion, allows for a significant increase in capacity without altering the physical size of the device.

The battery of the Magic7 Lite offers an impressive capacity of 6,600mAh, enabling up to 26 hours of video playback on a single charge. Additionally, this battery can operate in both hot and cold conditions, and thanks to Honor's artificial intelligence technology, it will be able to make a 50-minute call even when there is only 2% battery remaining, which is useful in emergency situations. It is also highlighted that the use of silicon contributes to reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

However, it is important not to overestimate the claim that this is the first silicon-carbon battery in the industry, as this type of technology has been present in the market for some time. Honor had already used such batteries in the Honor Magic 6 Pro, which has a capacity of 5,600mAh. Furthermore, other manufacturers like Vivo have implemented silicon anodes in their devices.

Regarding the general features of the Magic7 Lite, it is the first in the new Magic7 series announced in Europe, although its launch in the United States is not expected. This smartphone is lightweight, weighing 189 grams and with a thickness of 7.98mm, available in two finishes: Titanium Black and Titanium Purple. Honor indicates that the device can withstand drops from up to 2 meters and features IP65M water and dust resistance, reinforcing its durability.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED display offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and a pulse-width modulation (PWM) of 3840Hz. On the back, there is a main 108-megapixel camera accompanied by a 5MP wide-angle camera. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor along with 8GB of RAM. It is worth mentioning that this processor was also used in the Magic6 Lite, which has a similar camera system, potentially not appealing to those who already own the previous version. The Magic7 Lite will arrive with Android 14 pre-installed, although it will not feature the latest version of Android 15.

The availability of the Honor Magic7 Lite is expected in Europe and the UK starting January 15, with a price around £399, approximately $500.
