The arrival of Ninja Gaiden 4 on Xbox, PC, and PS5 is announced.
Surprise.
Microsoft has revealed a new game during its Xbox Developer Direct event, and it is Ninja Gaiden 4. This installment, which is part of a long-standing series, is being co-developed by Team Ninja in collaboration with Platinum Games, known for their acclaimed action titles such as Bayonetta and Nier: Automata. The release of this highly anticipated game is scheduled for fall 2025 and will be available on Xbox, PC, and PS5, as well as on Game Pass.
The Ninja Gaiden franchise dates back to the late 1980s but underwent a significant transformation with the release of Ninja Gaiden for Xbox in 2004, a game noted for its difficulty and intense action, developed by Team Ninja. That version was adapted for various consoles and led to multiple sequels. According to the debut trailer, the new Ninja Gaiden 4 promises to continue the dark and fast-paced gameplay established in the 2004 title, but with an even more agile tempo.
In addition to this new release, a remake of Ninja Gaiden II has been announced, titled Ninja Gaiden II Black, which is available immediately on consoles, PC, and Game Pass. However, that's not all, as the retro-focused studio Dotemu is also working on a new title called Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound.
