Supermarket Simulator Pro Disappears After Removal of Several "Spam" Games from the PS Store.

The games that have been removed allegedly used recycled assets and images generated by artificial intelligence.

Sony seems to have removed a number of games deemed "spam" from its digital store, known as the PS Store. This decision follows recent criticism from developers who pointed out the presence of many low-quality titles in the digital storefront. A notable case is that of developer RandomSpin, which had released more than 40 games so far in 2024, most of which have been removed, including titles like Bodycam Shooter and Supermarket Simulator Pro.

The removal of these games from PS4 and PS5 coincides with an investigation that highlighted the lack of quality control in the PlayStation Store and the Nintendo eShop compared to the Xbox store. Developers have reported the issue of excess "spam" and low-quality games, as well as the difficult accessibility to good titles.

On the PSNProfiles site, players have found indications that RandomSpin and its titles, which utilized recycled assets and AI-generated graphics, have been removed. These games were known for replicating other popular ones, such as Bodycam by Reissad Studio or Supermarket Simulator by Nokta Games. However, it is unclear whether these removals are a direct response to the recent criticism or merely a coincidence. So far, Sony has not issued any official statement regarding this.

In other news, it has been announced that the first live stream of State of Play for 2025 will take place on February 12 of that year. This presentation will last over 40 minutes and will offer news and updates on various games coming to PS5, generating excitement about the announcement of release dates for highly anticipated titles like Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yōtei.
