Steam leaked the release date for Mafia 4, and it's coming very soon!
Mafia: The Old Country is scheduled for release soon, according to leaked information from its page on Steam.
The next installment in the 2K Mafia franchise, titled Mafia: The Old Country, was scheduled to be released this year. Recently, a glitch on the Steam page suggested a release date of August 8. Although this information was quickly removed, many fans managed to capture the error. While unofficial sources can generate some distrust, data from Steam tends to be reliable.
Developer Hanger 13 had plans to officially announce the release date at the PAX East event taking place in early May. However, there is still a considerable amount of time before August, and the event on May 8 promises to showcase a new gameplay trailer and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the franchise's story.
Mafia: The Old Country is set in Sicily during the 1900s, in a dangerous period that marks the rise of Cosa Nostra. The game invites players to uncover the origins of organized crime through an immersive story set in the violent world of crime. Players will take on the role of Enzo Favara, fighting to survive and proving his worth to the organization.
This new title is presented as an experience akin to classic mafia films, making it especially appealing to fans of iconic movies like The Godfather and Scarface. If the leaked release date is accurate, the wait won't be very long. Furthermore, an August release allows for a gap between this title and other major releases, such as Grand Theft Auto 6, providing ample time to immerse in the dark Sicilian life before entering the modern and dangerous world of GTA 6.
